A lot of the impatience you are talking about comes from the local scribes writng 'what if' coumns because Chevy hasn't given them anuthing else to talk/write about. Most of the people I talk to are confident that Chevy and his crew are busy doing their homework and due diligence expecting (hoping) it will pay off when he starts to make the roster his own between now and the end of July.
If we are approaching training camp and the roster looks similar with a few UFA's gone and journeymen replacements signed, then the questions will come.
No worries from my corner just yet! |

2 questions for you Peter:
1. Who do you think the Jets would be looking at from compliance buy outs? I know we don't have exactly who is available, but who do you think Chevy is hoping to target?
b. In your opinion, do you feel this could be Noel's last season if certain expectations aren't met. I think making the playoffs is going to be tough in the division this year but if the team isn't in the hunt I think he's toast. |

Daniel Briere. It would be beautiful irony as he was a former Jet draft pick and since they are looking for someone who can skate up the middle with kane.. Who better then a former flyer who has wheels and has something to prove? Also with the buyout.. could come cheap..
Noel? Nope. He has been with the organization for a few years now. He is thier guy for now. I think the team will "Barry Trotz" him and will be around for a few more years to come. |

1- they need second line talent to help Kane and probably want a right winger. The obvious theory would be that Scheifele steps in at some point to fill that number 2 centre position. I am not convinced that a RW is the only option but at least the preferred one. A centre would help too.
2- Noel gets part of this season and depending on the make up of the Jets room they either see what happens for OCT Nov and then decide. Why this? Well if he's a lame duck coach will the team respect him if they know he is likely gone?
Probably not IMO so give him 2 months and see what you have. All this is dependent upon Chevy giving him a roster that is somewhat 'complete' if it's more of the same as the last two years do you fault Noel or praise him for playing with 4 top six players and a rotating cast of injury plagued bottoms six guys?

Big difference when one guy is a year away from UfA status and the other two are 10(trouba) and 5 (Kane) years away from UfA. Go peddle ur poop someplace else. |

I like Vanek, but Winnipeg will not give up what Buffalo would want for him. I'm thinking something like Burmistrov, Redmond and 2nd. Max.

If and when Briere gets bought out I can almost guarantee he signs with Montreal.
The Jest will not pick up anyone off a compliance buyout. Those guys will be UFA status and will sign else where.
The only way chevy improves the roster is buy grossly over paying a washed up vet (Jokinen) or buy trade.
My guess is he goes the later route.
I think you can kiss Buff good bye. He will be traded with out a doubt. I could see him packaged with Burmistrov to get scoring help. |

I think Briere might consider Buffalo. Im not trying to be being biest, but Briere loved his time here and his family loved Buffalo. The only reason he left was the old cheap owner wouldnt pay him. |

WE have been over this. Theres no way Byfuglien Leaves Winnipeg, they just finshed his own private VIP section of the Royal Fork Buffet! He is there this afternoon, just finished a 5 gallon Pail of Shrimp. But Brurmistrov for Nino may work. AND JETS, GET TEMMU SELANNE UFA!!!!! |
